Today is a special day for introductions because we get to feature Patrick David Wheeler. Patrick plays the third member in our love triangle and title role of our upcoming “Cyrano de Bergerac.” Patrick was a force of nature in our auditions. He and his talented scene partner Jill Kloop swept in with the balcony scene and left us speechless and choked up with emotion. The level of thought and flexibility that he brought to each of the sides he approached was a true pleasure to watch.
Outside of The Archive Theater, Patrick is also a force in the Austin Theater scene. He moved to Austin in 2014 and began auditioning again after a 5-year theater hiatus. His Austin credits include Bill Fordham in August: Osage County (BWW award, Best Featured Actor in a Drama), Amos Heart in Chicago, Shamreyev in The Seagull, and the title roles in both Hamlet and Macbeth. He has had the pleasure and great fortune to meet and work with so many talented and passionate individuals over the past two years and continues to grow as an artist both on and off the stage because of their ability, warmth, and generosity. Patrick is incredibly humbled and honored to be part of this production of Cyrano de Bergerac, the first showing of new translation, and the flagship production for The Archive Theater, and hopes that you, like Cyrano, will live your truth, love always, and enjoy the show.
