Co-Producing Partners

We are looking for historic and unusual spaces in the Austin area to partner with in co-producing relationships. We believe that a relationship should always benefit both partners and go out of our way to care for the spaces we work in and to bring value and attention to our partners. We typically work on a ticket-split format with an assured minimum for the venue but are open to negotiation. If you are interested in potentially hosting a production in your space, please contact us at info@thearchivetheater.org.

The Austin Scottish Rite Theater

We have been utterly blessed to co-produce Cyrano de Bergerac with The Austin Scottish Rite Theater. Scottish Rite is well know for the quality and diversity of their programming for adults and children, and has become a cultural icon in downtown Austin. In addition they have a beautiful historic theater that was constructed in the same era that Cyrano de Bergerac was written. For more information, please visit their website at http://scottishritetheater.org. We look forward to working with them again in 2024 to produce The Three Musketeers.

Pioneer Farms

We have been thrilled to co-produce with Pioneer Farms for several seasons as part of their effort to bring quality historical programming to North East Austin. Our first show at Pioneer Farms was The Man of Destiny in 2020 where we converted their 100-year-old Wessells dance hall into a 19th-century tavern on the French-Italian border. We then produced our post-Civil War Macbeth in the fall of 2022, followed by A Sherlock Holmes Christmas. Their rich backdrop of historic buildings provides the perfect touch of authenticity to our 19th-century productions.

If you haven’t been to Pioneer Farms you are in for a treat. A visit to Pioneer Farms is an opportunity to step back in time to 1800s Texas. Located in Northeast Austin, Pioneer Farms is Central Texas’ premier living history park. Their park covers just over 90 acres of prairie, woodlands, and a stretch of Walnut Creek. They have six interpretive sites, including historic buildings filled with authentic 1800s furniture and artifacts. Volunteers in period dress “live” in the sites and provide guided tours to show visitors what life was like for the original inhabitants. They are open to the public Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, 10–5. Tours are available seven days a week with an advanced reservation. Learn more at pioneerfarms.org or by calling 512-837-1215.

KMFA Draylen Mason Studio

KMFA hosted us for two weekends for A Sherlock Holmes Christmas. If you haven't been to their studio, it is truly lovely. With perfect acoustics, well kept facilities, deliciously effective climate control, friendly staff, and large foyer areas, KMFA is a fantastic venue for any kind of performance. The building was designed as a gathering place in a modern space conveniently located just north of Lady Bird Lake on Austin’s East Side, a twenty-minute walk from the Austin Convention Center.

Wells Branch Community Center

We have been honored to offer free showings for several of our shows at the Wells Branch Community Center as part of our continuing reciprocal relationship with the Wells Branch neighbohood. Our first show that will play to the public there will be Raven-Winged Hours in September 2023. Built in 1993, the community center is a large meeting space available to rent for a variety of occasions. A major renovation project in 2014 updated the facility. Facility rental includes the use of tables and chairs, making it a great place to hold a special event or large family function.
